Hi. I'm melissa.
Just like you, I'm a constant work in progress.
I started You First Fitness in 2010 after discovering that focusing on myself- even for just a couple of hours a week- made everyone and everything around me shine brighter.
But, it wasn't (and it's not) always easy.
In 2007, after being sidelined with a back injury, I was out of shape, eating garbage, and constantly sick. When I finally started working out again, it was literally my “ah ha” moment that my health and wellness truly mattered.
Finally, for the first time in my life, I learned to sincerely, completely and fully love myself. Can I get an AMEN?!
Was it all sunshine and quick successes? UM, negative. But today, I’m incredibly proud to be the healthiest I’ve ever been: physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
What started as a journey into personal training transformed into so much more over the years. I am married to a strong-willed and driven man, Alan, who continues to grow daily. He has seen me at the depths of my darkness and in the brilliance of my light. In 2015, I gained my greatest gift and fiercest lesson in life, through the birth of my son, Cannon Cobb. He has truly revolutionized the way I see, do and embrace life and provides me small moments of inspiration and clarity daily that push me to continue putting myself first, so that I show up as the best I can be for him! Finally, through self-love and understanding, I have strengthened my relationships and have been blessed with a strong tribe of friends and family that lift me up and surround me with passion, love and acceptance always.
Other tidbits and fun facts? I love creating life-betterment projects, bodies of water, all.things.nature, working out (#truestory), writing, reading, connecting with people, learning new things, precious moments with my 2 guys and my dog, Bigs!
There’s no easy button, fast pass or substitute for achieving your total mind and body transformation. The choice is yours, the power is in your hands and the time is now.
Will you choose You First?
