A Few Words About My Journey
From Burnout to Body Confidence
“Fitness became my anchor when everything else fell apart.”
My journey to health and fitness began in 2012 when I traded the fast-paced lifestyle of London for the vibrant culture of Sri Lanka. Back then, my days were filled with partying, binge-drinking, and fast food—McDonald’s breakfasts were practically a routine. But Sri Lanka offered a fresh start: a culture centred around wholesome food, outdoor living, and balance.
Unexpectedly, I began receiving modelling opportunities—something that had never happened in the UK, where the industry standards were (and largely still are) very different. At that time in Sri Lanka, models of all sizes were not yet widely embraced, and although I was grateful, it quickly became apparent that I didn’t fit the mold. I was noticeably bigger than the other models, and standing next to them only amplified my insecurities. The reality truly hit when I auditioned for Colombo Fashion Week and was rejected because I didn’t meet the narrow expectations of size and shape.
That experience was a turning point. It ignited a fire in me to take control of my health, fitness, and overall well-being.
After about 6 months of dedication and transformation, I was scouted by Victoria’s Secret and went on to enjoy a four-year career as a fitting model. Maintaining precise measurements became a requirement of my contract, and exercise quickly evolved into a core part of my life.
When I returned to the UK after seven years abroad—following the end of a difficult relationship—I found myself leaning on fitness as my anchor. Exercise didn’t just transform my body; it saved my mental health. It was then that I realised: if fitness could help me through the darkest chapter of my life, imagine how many others it could help.
Motivated by this realisation, I qualified as a Personal Trainer and Pre and Post Natal Specialist in early 2021, excited to share my passion and help people transform their health. But just two years into my new career, I faced an enormous setback. Training intensely without prioritising recovery, movement quality, or progressive strength, I suffered one herniated disc and one torn spinal disc, which left me barely able to walk.
The injury was physically and mentally devastating. Worse, I often felt let down by the healthcare system during my recovery—receiving minimal support and a lack of true guidance. I knew there had to be a better way. Determined to heal myself properly, I immersed myself in learning: within two years, I qualified as a Pilates Instructor, Corrective Exercise Specialist, and Level 5 Soft Tissue Therapist.
These qualifications weren’t just about expanding my skills—they were personal. I wanted to ensure my clients would be guided safely and never experience the setbacks I had. My practice is now built on the foundation of everything I learned from both my successes and mistakes.
Today, my mission is to help people build strong foundations, correct imbalances, enhance mobility, and achieve sustainable, pain-free results.
My approach is holistic and functional, with a focus on building core strength, improving movement patterns, and performing exercises safely and effectively. Yes, you’ll work hard and push your limits, but you’ll also feel better, move better, and realise that pain and stiffness are not inevitable as you age.
Together, we’ll not just chase goals—we’ll create a lifestyle that supports your health, vitality, and confidence for years to come.
