In person sessions are usually carried out at a location convenient to the client within a 5 mile radius of Kings Cross, so if you are within this catchment area you can choose to have your session in person or online. Anyone outside of this area can claim their free session via zoom and have it from the comfort of their home!

Since your health and wellbeing is of utmost importance it is imperative that, before carrying out any assessments or training, we have an initial conversation to run through some health and lifestyle questions to ensure that it is safe for you to exercise and that any medical conditions that could put you at risk of harm are discussed.

Book your free consultation now and start your journey to finding the best trainer to help you on your journey to better health. During the call you will be asked about your availability for your free personal training session.

Click each of the headings below to find out more about the different components of the session

Before your free session it is necessary for us to have a telephone conversation where we will run through some health and lifestyle questions. It is really nothing too formal or anything to worry about too much.

Primarily, the purpose is to ensure that it is safe for you to exercise and that any medical conditions or underlying health conditions have been disclosed to avoid putting you at risk of harm.

Secondary to this, the aim is to get to know you a bit better; your goals, health and lifestyle, nutrition, schedule, likes and dislikes, any barriers you might be facing and more.

You can also ask me any questions you may have and make me aware of anything that you think might be relevant.

The call can either be scheduled via zoom or a telephone call and can last up to

Understandably everyone is at different stages in terms of health and fitness and therefore it is impossible to plan a session or programme without an assessment. Therefore, the free session is more of a movement assessment which aims to challenge and test your balance, core strength, mobility and stability in a safe and controlled way.

What is included:

  • Blood Pressure Check
  • Body measurements (this can help identify if you are at risk of cardiovascular disease & diabetes)
  • Weight (good indicator of BMI)
  • Photos (used to check progress should you continue on your journey with You First)
  • Mobility and flexibility assessment
  • Core strength and balance assessment
  • Stretching
  • Theragun therapy

You will be recorded whilst performing the exercises as the videos will be re-evaluated and used to form the basis for your training programme should you choose to continue training with You First.

Your blood pressure will be checked prior to starting exercise due to the fact that if your blood pressure is relatively high, your doctor or nurse may prefer to lower it with medicines before you start exercising.

If you have a reading higher than 140/90mmHg it is best to avoid any new activity without talking to your doctor first.

Owing to the fact that a person’s body weight and measurements are, in most cases, a good indicator of health and potential risks, you weight and body measurements will be taken at the beginning of the session.

Ideally this will include chest, arms, waist, hips and thighs but should anything make you uncomfortable you can of course opt out.

The scales used for body weight read biometric data too so please be prepared to remove your shoes and socks.

Provided you are located within a 5-mile radius of London, Kings Cross, you have the choice of having your session in person, at a place convenient for you, or online. Anyone further afield has the option of online training only via Zoom.

The session will last approximately 1 hour and is suitable for people of all ages and abilities.

What customers say

I reached out to Natalie in early summer to help motivate my fitness goals, having been through the same lockdown/WFH challenges as many others. Our 1:1 sessions have been fantastic, with excellent attention to form and increasing strength, flexibility, and posture. All of her sessions are targeted exactly to my desired targets, gaps, and injuries - every week. Would highly recommend Natalie for anyone looking for custom, progressive sessions for long-term success.

Nay Stewart

With home working and lockdown, I’d definitely become quite sloth like (!), and my fitness levels had plummeted massively. Natalie has developed a plan to help get things back on track starting with lots of mobility and posture work which has really helped with all the day-to-day aches and pains that had appeared, and prepared me for taking on cardio and strength work without any injuries (which is what happened when I tried to sort this all out by myself!) She’s been amazing and taking the time to create a plan that meets my needs and works for me, and explaining the how and why of what we’re doing which I really like. She’s been wonderfully patient, encouraging and has an excellent sense of humour – which has been essential when working with me! I would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for a PT!
